The start of the biggest month on the trail so far this year begins for Texas football recruiting and head coach Steve Sarkisian on June 1. Texas will host its first official visitor of the summer months on the recruiting trail when the touted four-star Laguna Beach (CA) tight end Ryner Swanson makes the trip to Austin on June 1.

The first official visitor of the month of June will lead to a massive weekend for the Longhorns in terms of hosting unofficial visitors for the Elite Camp, which namely takes place on June 3. Sark and the Longhorns staff will welcome more than two dozen unofficial visitors to campus this weekend from the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes for an important evaluation weekend on the trail.

The Texas Elite Camp this weekend could play an important role in determining how the big boards shape up early on for the 2025 and 2026 cycles.

Top 2024 recruits Texas football could land during the visit season in June

But we’re going to keep the focus here on the 2024 class for the Longhorns, which could start really adding some numbers to the mix in June. With that in mind, here’s a look at a prediction of every 2024 commitment the Longhorns could land in June.

Tyanthony Smith, LB

One of Texas’ top linebacker priorities in-state in the 2024 class is the four-star Jasper (TX) product, Tyanthony Smith. Texas will host Smith for his official visit to Austin on June 20. Pete Kwiatkowski, Jeff Choate, and the Longhorns will get the last of three official visits that Smith is taking this month.

The official visit schedule for June starts for Smith this weekend. He’ll see College Station to officially visit the Texas A&M Aggies starting on June 2. Two weeks after that, Smith will make the official trip to see the USC Trojans starting on June 16.

And then, Texas will get the last of the three official visits that Smith currently has on the docket, from June 20-22. Smith has other plans the weekend following his official trip to Austin, which seems to be why he isn’t joining for the big visit weekend starting on June 23.

Nonetheless, Texas will have a huge chance to solidify its spot atop the two or three schools that are real players in this recruitment this summer when he visits the 40 on June 20. Texas has made a move in this recruitment during the spring, which saw the coaching staff visit him at Jasper High School as well as him making the trip to Austin for the second Junior Day of the offseason on March 25.

The key for the Longhorns here will be to beat the Aggies. Texas and Texas A&M look to be the two schools that are really battling it out in this recruitment, with USC trailing in third place. If PK, Choate, and the Longhorns can convince Smith they have room for him to make an impact on a crowded linebacker room in the next couple of years, I think Texas can win this recruitment this summer.
