How to watch 2024 SEC football schedule release: TV/stream, start time
The first SEC football schedule featuring the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners as members of the conference is set to be announced on June 14. Saturday Down South reported this week that the eight opponents and host venues for each SEC team in conference play during the 2024 season will be revealed live on television on the evening of June 14.
In 2024, the SEC will roll with an eight-game conference schedule while doing away with the divisional format. But the SEC has retained future football scheduling and formatting by only committing to the eight-game conference schedule without any divisions for the 2024 season.
It is believed that multiple members of the SEC will push for a nine-game conference schedule in 2025 and beyond.
The SEC administration had a majority vote adopted earlier this month to officially move forward with the eight-game conference schedule for the 2024 season instead of nine. The five schools that reportedly voted for the nine-game schedule were the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas A&M Aggies, Mizzou Tigers, Florida Gators, and LSU Tigers.
Notably, each of the 16 SEC member schools must play at least one non-conference Power Five team or the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2024. In the Longhorns’ case, the Power Five non-conference opponent during the 2024 season will be the Michigan Wolverines.
Another important nugget for the SEC football scheduling in 2024 is that the other 14 member schools must face either Texas or Oklahoma in conference play next season.
Here’s a look at the TV/streaming information and start time for the release of the SEC schedule for the 2024 college football season on June 14.

What we know about Texas’ schedule in 2024
Based on the reporting of Horns247 and ESPN’s Peter Burns, it is confirmed that Texas will host the reigning back-to-back National Champion Georgia Bulldogs at home in 2024. Horns247 also reported that Texas will face the Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas A&M Aggies on the road and the Sooners in the Red River Rivalry game at a neutral site at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas next season.
And given that each SEC team will have to at least face one of Texas or Oklahoma in 2024, that leaves 11 more schools that could face the Longhorns in conference play next season.
Texas and Oklahoma will play their final football season in the Big 12 in 2023. The Big 12 will feature four new additions in 2023, including the BYU Cougars, Houston Cougars, Cincinnati Bearcats, and UCF Knights, before Texas and Oklahoma leave for the SEC next year.
