The first big official visit weekend of the month of June also brought the first commitment of the summer for head coach Steve Sarkisian and Texas football in the 2024 recruiting class. Texas added its fourth commitment to the 2024 recruiting class and third blue-chip on June 17 in the highly touted four-star Scottsdale (AZ) Desert Mountain cornerback Santana Wilson.

The son of the former All-Pro NFL defensive back and Carolina Panthers vice president of player personnel Adrian Wilson, Santana was the first June official visitor to commit to Texas.

Wilson made his first trip to Texas officially this weekend for the massive group of mid-June visitors for Sark and the Longhorns staff. The difference is that Texas offered Wilson much later in this cycle than most official visitors on campus this weekend.

Texas offered Wilson almost exactly one month ago on the day of his commitment to the Longhorns. The offer and official visit clearly made quite an impression on Wilson.

And it feels like this commitment for the Longhorns could spark a wave of momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2024 class that lasts for the rest of the summer.

Texas football recruits on commit watch after landing 4-Star CB Santana Wilson

Here’s a prediction of the next commitment to the Longhorns 2024 class after landing Wilson on June 17.

Parker Livingstone, WR

Next weekend, a high-priority official visitor among in-state wide receivers for the Longhorns is the touted four-star Lucas (TX) Lovejoy product, Parker Livingstone. The 6-foot-3 and 175-pound in-state wideout is set to make his second trip of the offseason to Texas starting on June 23.

Texas is in a great spot for Livingstone heading into his official visit to Austin next weekend. Not only is Texas the presumed leader among the top schools in the race to land a commitment from Livingstone next month, but this staff also has the best connection with Livingstone.

An encouraging sign for Texas’ standing in this recruitment heading into Livingstone’s official visit next weekend is the cancellation of the official visit to Baton Rouge to see the LSU Tigers. Justin Wells of Inside Texas reported on June 15 (paid content) that Livingstone canceled his LSU visit, which was originally set to start on June 16.

And considering that Texas is the next official visit on the docket for Livingstone this summer ahead of his July 1 decision date, it’s hard not to like where it stands a couple of weeks from his commitment.
