Landon Rink, DL/EDGE

The only 2025 recruit on this list that had at least one 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction entered projecting a commitment to Texas is the talented four-star Cypress (TX) Cy-Fair defensive lineman/edge rusher, Landon Rink. The teammate of 2024 four-star Texas quarterback commit Trey Owens, Rink has already visited Texas unofficially more than a half dozen times in the last two offseasons.

On June 17, Horns247 recruiting analyst Jordan Scruggs entered a crystal ball prediction with moderate to high confidence projecting Rink’s commitment to Texas. This crystal ball prediction comes from Scruggs a couple of weeks after Rink visited Texas for the Elite Camp on the weekend of June 3.

Since the start of the 2023 offseason, On3 and Rivals both have entered forecasts projecting Rink’s commitment to Texas. There aren’t any other schools that are forecasted to land Rink’s commitment.

Rink has also made it to campus for several successful unofficial visits for the Orange-White Game on April 15 and the first Junior Day of the offseason on Jan. 21.

According to Inside Texas (paid content), the Longhorns also have a connection with Rink via freshman edge rusher and former four-star recruit out of Austin Westlake, Colton Vasek. Colton’s father, Brian Vasek, is reportedly close with Rink’s father.

There is an expectation that Rink could return to the 40 as soon as next weekend for an unofficial visit. Rink could make a return trip starting on June 23, the same weekend his Cy-Fair teammate Owens makes his official visit to Austin.
