Danny Okoye, EDGE

Last weekend, one of the most intriguing official campus visitors for the Longhorns was the rising four-star Tulsa edge rusher Danny Okoye. The homeschooled 6-foot-5 and 230-pound gifted Oklahoma edge rusher Okoye was blown away by the official visit over the weekend.

It’s worth noting that the Texas OV was Okoye’s first-ever official visit. So, Texas made this a pretty incredible experience for him.

Inside Texas reported on June 19 (paid content) that Okoye had an “insane” experience during his official visit to Austin. Pete Kwiatkowski did a nice job connecting with Okoye and driving home the point that he could be an impact player at the buck position for the Longhorns.

The physically-gifted edge prospect is one of the top out-of-state priorities at the position for the Longhorns in the 2024 class. Texas did a nice job setting the tone with the official visit process for Okoye.

Khmori House, LB

The only linebacker recruit that made the trek to Austin last weekend for an official visit was three-star Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco linebacker Khmori House. The former teammate of true freshman Texas wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. at St. John Bosco made his first visit to Austin last weekend.

Texas reportedly “hit a homer” with House last weekend. He spent time with co-DC/linebackers coach Jeff Choate and some Texas players, which made a big impression on House.

The fact that Texas had two linebacker recruits cancel official visits for the middle of next week (four-stars Tyanthony Smith and Kamar Mothudi) makes House’s recruitment that much more important for the rest of the summer.
