Ryan Wingo, WR

The highest-rated official visitor the Longhorns had on campus last weekend was the five-star St. Louis University (MO) wide receiver, Ryan Wingo. Texas made a big move with Wingo during a successful official visit to Austin last weekend as he connected with true freshman quarterback and the former No. 1 rated recruit in the nation in the 2023 class Arch Manning.

Wingo told Orangebloods after the official visit wrapped up in Austin on June 18 that Texas is “for sure in a good position”.

Sark has also reportedly “invested serious time” into this recruitment personally. When you combine Sark’s involvement in this recruitment with the strong connection that new wide receivers coach Chris Jackson is building with Wingo, it’s easy to see how Texas has started to become a factor with the elite Missouri wideout prospect.

Christian Clark, RB

The top running back priority on campus for an official visit last weekend was four-star Phoenix (AZ) Mountain Pointe product Christian Clark. The blue-chip running back recruit out of Arizona has a fantastic relationship with running backs coach Tashard Choice.

And it sounds like Choice continued to make a really positive impression on Clark and his family during the official visit to Austin last weekend.

Multiple recruits visited Texas officially last weekend that are on commitment watch early this week (Washington, Hills, Eugene Brooks, Warner, etc.). But Clark and Washington might be the two most important recruits on commitment watch for the Longhorns in the next few days.
