A top out-of-state priority running back recruit for the Longhorns in the 2024 class that we’ve talked a lot about in the last couple of weeks is the highly touted four-star Phoenix (AZ) Mountain Pointe product, Christian Clark. The talented 5-foot-11 and 195-pound Arizona native running back made his second trip to the 40 of the offseason for his official this weekend.

Running backs coach Tashard Choice, and the Longhorns knocked it out of the park again in Clark’s first return trip to the Forty Acres since the second Junior Day of the offseason. Texas not only impressed Clark during the official visit over the weekend, but it also made a good impression on his mom.

Clark came into this official visit with Texas, presumably at the top of his list. He did make official visits to Tallahassee and Eugene, respectively, to see the Florida State Seminoles (June 2) and Oregon Ducks (June 9) earlier this month. He’s also got an official visit scheduled next weekend to Athens to see the Georgia Bulldogs.

Yet, after schools such as Oregon and Georgia set their sights on other top running back priorities in the 2024 class early this summer, Texas looks like the clear leader in the race to land a commitment from Clark. And it’s worth noting that the Georgia official visit next weekend reportedly has a coin-flip chance of happening.
