Texas Football: 6 more commitments the Longhorns could land this week
A huge couple of weeks on the recruiting trail for Texas football in the 2024 class began last weekend, specifically on June 16. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian hosted nearly two-dozen official visitors from the 2024 class over the weekend for the first big visit weekend of the month.
Next weekend, the Longhorns will host roughly the same number of official visitors on campus for multiple days. This coming weekend will be even bigger for official visits, though.
Texas is hosting some of its top in-state priority recruits in the 2024 class on official visits, mainly from June 23-25. Some of the highlighting official visitors for this coming weekend are the elite five-star Duncanville edge rusher Colin Simmons, five-star IMG Academy running back Jerrick Gibson, five-star Waco (TX) Connally cornerback Kobe Black, and four-star Temple (TX) Lake Belton cornerback Selman Bridges, among many others.
I expect some of the visiting recruits this weekend to be on commitment watch in the near future for the Longhorns. The same can be said for some of the official visitors from last weekend.
Texas football has more than a half-dozen key recruits on commitment watch in late June
Texas already landed a couple of blue-chip commitments in the 2024 class that were officially visiting last weekend. The first commitment for the Longhorns last weekend came on June 17, with four-star Scottsdale (AZ) Desert Mountain cornerback Santana Wilson.
On June 18, Texas landed its second commitment in as many days with four-star Spring Branch (TX) Smithson Valley wide receiver Freddie Dubose Jr.
The commitments from Dubose and Wilson last weekend only got the ball rolling in terms of momentum on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns in the 2024 class.
With that in mind, here’s a look at six more key recruits on commitment watch for the Longhorns this week.
