Daniel Cruz, IOL

A top interior offensive line priority in-state for offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns that is officially visiting this weekend is the touted four-star North Richland Hills (TX) Richland product, Daniel Cruz.

Flood and the Longhorns led this recruitment, at least going back to the spring. And while the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M Aggies tried to chip away at Texas’ lead in the race to land a commitment from Cruz this summer in each respective official visit the last two weeks, I’m still confident that he is a Longhorn lean.

It sounds like Texas will try to make a move to shut this recruitment down coming out of this weekend’s official visit.

Eugene Brooks, IOL

Another June official visitor among interior offensive linemen offers in the 2024 class for Flood and the Longhorns is three-star Chatsworth (CA) Sierra Canyon product, Eugene Brooks. The sizable 6-foot-4 and 325-pound California native interior offensive lineman made the official visit to Austin last weekend.

The OV to Austin last weekend was Brooks’ first trip to Texas of the offseason thus far. Texas pushed a lot of the right buttons with Brooks during his official visit. Texas made the biggest move of any of the schools Brooks visited in the last couple of months. That’s big since he officially visited Oklahoma two weekends ago.

Hudson Standish of Horns247 reported on June 19 (paid content) that Texas currently leads this recruitment over the Sooners.
