Texas Football: 6 more commitments the Longhorns could land this week
Jordan Washington, TE
The tight end recruit for the Longhorns that we’ve discussed ad nauseum in the last few days is the rising three-star Houston (TX) Langham Creek product Jordan Washington. The potent in-state receiving tight end prospect is a definite Texas lean coming out of his official visit to the 40 last weekend.
Texas knocked it out of the park during Washington’s OV last weekend, especially with having junior standout tight end JT Sanders hosting him during the trip. Washington appears to be sold on Texas, with a possible visit to Tuscaloosa to see the Crimson Tide looming large in the next week.
If Washington does not make the trip to Tuscaloosa late this month, that will tell where Texas stands in this recruitment.
Christian Clark, RB
A top out-of-state running back target for the Longhorns and RB coach Tashard Choice in the 2024 class that made the official visit last weekend is the highly touted four-star Phoenix (AZ) Mountain Pointe product, Christian Clark. Choice and the Longhorns hit a home run with this visit, as Clark left Austin with a lot of positive things to say about the Texas RB coach.
The last official visit remaining on Clark’s schedule for June is to Athens to see Georgia this coming weekend. Similar to what I said about Washington, if Clark doesn’t wind up making that official visit to Athens this weekend, that bodes really well for Texas’ standing in this recruitment.
If Clark skips the Georgia visit, a Texas commitment could be imminent for the blue-chip running back out of Arizona.
