5. Jamaal Charles (2005-2007)

Career stats: 3,328 rushing yards (6.2 YPC), 36 rushing TDs

There is a big jump in career-rushing production once you get into the top five on this list. The first running back up for Texas that rushed more than 3,000 career yards is the speedy Jamaal Charles. A great lineage of Texas running backs in the 1990s and 2000s continued with Charles from 2005-2007.

Charles is rare because he was versatile and consistent during his three seasons playing for Texas. He is one of just two running backs in the modern era of Texas football that tallied at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns each year of his collegiate career.

The best individual season for Charles at Texas was in 2007 when he registered more than 1,600 rushing yards and a whopping 18 rushing scores. That was also the only season that saw Charles post more than 1,800 total yards from scrimmage.
