Texas Football: Predicting Longhorns next commit after big Saturday
Jordan Washington, TE
Decision date: July 4
The next scheduled commitment to watch among key targets of the Longhorns 2024 class is on July 4, with the rising three-star Houston (TX) Langham Creek tight end Jordan Washington.
Special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks and the Longhorns have Washington as the top tight end target on the board for the 2024 class this summer. The 6-foot-4 and 225-pound Washington is viewed as a high-upside receiving tight end that could fill one of the two spots at the position in the 2024 class.
Texas set the pace in this recruitment since it offered Washington during the spring evaluation period. Competing schools on the recruiting trail, such as the Texas A&M Aggies, Utah Utes, Alabama, etc., either backed off Washington in the last couple of months or fell too far behind the Longhorns after his two most recent visits to the Forty Acres.
While Texas A&M, Alabama, and Texas are all in Washington’s top three heading into decision day on July 4, the Longhorns are expected to be the pick.
