Believe it or not, Texas football has never played these FBS teams
Texas football vs. Big 12
There is only one member school in the Big 12 the Longhorns have yet to face. And that one school, Cincinnati, is one of the four new additions to the conference ahead of the 2023 season. Texas has faced the other three new additions to the Big 12 at least once.
Texas also won’t face Cincinnati in the only season (2023) where the two schools will be Big 12 foes.
Cincinnati Bearcats
The interesting question moving forward will be which Big 12 schools the Longhorns continue to schedule. It sounds like at least a bi-annual matchup against the in-state foe Texas Tech Red Raiders, is realistic.
The other bigger brands in the Big 12, such as the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas State Wildcats, TCU Horned Frogs, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Baylor Bears, will probably be facing the Longhorns sparsely, if at all, in the coming decades. The same could be said for the new additions to the Big 12.
I wouldn’t expect Texas to try to schedule a school like Cincinnati on the non-conference schedule anytime soon.
