Texas football vs. Conference-USA

The Conference-USA has multiple new member schools heading into the 2023 football season. The only new member school the Longhorns haven’t faced on the gridiron thus far is the Jackson State Tigers.

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

One of the more consistent C-USA football programs in the last decade and a half is the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Western Kentucky could be one of the better Group of Five programs that the Longhorns could schedule in the non-con in the next decade.

Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders

Another consistent program in the C-USA in the last decade or so is the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders. Under the direction of longtime head coach Rick Stockstill, Middle Tennessee has reached bowl eligibility six times in the last eight seasons.

Florida International Panthers

FIU is still trying to find its footing as an FBS program. It has yet to make a bowl game so far in the 2020s. This will be FIU’s 11th year competing in the C-USA after spending its first eight years as an FBS program in the Sun Belt.

Jackson State Tigers

One of the most recent programs to make the jump from the FCS to the FBS is Jackson State. After finding a lot of success on the field the last few years under former head coach Deion Sanders, Jackson State will be put to the test in its first year in the Group of Five in 2023.
