D’antre Robinson, DL

Decision date: July 21

Another vastly underrated defensive lineman out-of-state in the 2024 class is the gigantic 6-foot-4 and 325-pound Orlando (FL) Jones product D’antre Robinson. The On3 Industry Ranking and Top247 tab Robinson as a three-star recruit, which is obscene.

That will also likely change during the fall when Robinson gets to do his thing in front of the national media and scouts.

Heading into the summer, it looked like Texas trailed a few of the top schools in the race to land a commitment from Robinson. The Florida Gators led this recruitment heading into the summer, with the Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs also involved.

But Texas made a huge move with Robinson and his camp during their official visit to Austin on the weekend of June 16. Similar to Hills, Davis and the Longhorns really moved the needle for Robinson during his official visit last month.

Hank South of Horns247 reported on July 10 (paid content) that Texas’ confidence in its chances to land Robinson on July 21 has “only grown stronger” in the last couple of weeks. Multiple forecasts in the last few weeks also project Robinson’s commitment to Texas as the Longhorns’ momentum in this recruitment is more pronounced less than two weeks from decision day.

I’m not ready to crown Texas the clear leader in the race to land a commitment from Robinson quite yet. But this is the best that Texas has looked in this recruitment since Texas offered Robinson last fall.
