Ranking the Best College Basketball Uniforms
2. Villanova Wildcats
Not many schools consistently do a better job with all three or four (depending on the season) uniform designs than the Villanova Wildcats. Villanova’s staple home whites and road navy blue uniforms are complimented by sleek gray and brighter light blue alternates.
Villanova’s home whites and road navy blue uniforms are perfect compliments, contrasting accents, and base colors seamlessly. It’s hard not to like the blue and white shadow accents on the base uniforms too.
The shorts are simple and effective, with the Villanova logo on the side and blue stripe pattern above the stitching.
Everything about the Villanova uniforms is done well, from the throwbacks and alternatives to the perfectly contrasting home and away designs.
1. North Carolina Tar Heels
Arguably the most iconic uniforms in college hoops belong to the North Carolina Tar Heels. Between the infamous Carolina Blue coloring, elegant argyle side pattern, and the unique “North” “Carolina” lettering surrounding the number, the Tar Heels boast an unmistakable and beautifully-designed base uniform set.
On the base uniforms, the white and black shadow accents are subtle touches that make the font look even sharper.
No one does the side patterns, coloring, and font like the Tar Heels. Everyone (except Duke) seems to like the Carolina Blue color, and you rarely see the Tar Heels miss with a design update or an alternate uniform. UNC is the staple Jordan Brand jersey, essentially the gold standard of uniform design.
