In roughly one week, Texas football will host multiple elite recruits from the 2025 class after the dead period for in-person visits lifts. Some of the elite recruits from the 2025 class that will be on campus once the dead period lifts for Texas next week are the No. 1 2025 running back Jordon Davison, No. 1 2025 California wide receiver Marcus Harris, and No. 1 2025 offensive tackle David Sanders Jr.

Outside of the elite recruits visiting Texas around the time of the July BBQ next week, others are coming into focus in the 2025 class for head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns.

Among the top in-state priorities early in the 2025 cycle is the elite five-star Fulshear (TX) Katy Jordan wide receiver Andrew Marsh. The No. 2 wide receiver recruit in Texas in the 2025 class, Marsh is near the top of the big board at the position for Sark, new wide receivers coach Chris Jackson, and the Longhorns for this cycle.

Texas is one of the top schools early in the recruiting process for Marsh. The elite Houston-area wideout recruit has good relationships with the Texas coaches, and he likes what Texas has building in the quarterback room with Arch Manning as a future starter and four-star Saraland (AL) product KJ Lacey committed to the Longhorns in the 2025 class.

He’s formed a good connection with Jackson and a lot of the other Longhorns coaches. Marsh is also being recruited by Sark and special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks.

He got a chance to connect with Jackson for the first time in-person earlier this offseason when he visited Texas unofficially for the first Junior Day of the offseason on Jan. 21. Marsh has also made it back to campus twice for visits to Austin for the second Junior Day on March 25 and for the Elite Camp on June 3.

Marsh has visited Texas more times than any other school this offseason.

And it sounds like a return visit is in the cards for Marsh to get to Austin this fall. Jordan Scruggs of 247Sports reported on July 21 (paid content) that Marsh plans to return to Austin “as soon as possible” for a game weekend at DKR this fall.

"“I’ll get up there for a game this season, I’m trying to get back up there as soon as possible. I like it at UT so I’m always trying to get back up there.”"

Texas is one of the favorites for Marsh heading into the fall

Marsh told Scruggs in this report that Texas is one of his favorite schools, along with the Houston Cougars, LSU Tigers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, TCU Horned Frogs, and USC Trojans.

Among the schools he mentioned that are at the top of his list late this summer, Marsh is set to visit LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and TCU once the dead period lifts on July 25.

Texas will continue prioritizing Marsh heading into the fall among the top wide receiver recruits in the 2025 class, along with five-star Duncanville wideout Dakorien Moore and Mater Dei’s Harris.
