The top-ranked recruit among all the classes of visitors for the Longhorns once the dead period lifts this week is the elite five-star Charlotte (NC) Providence Day School offensive tackle David Sanders Jr.

According to all the major recruiting services, the No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in the nation in the 2025 class will make his first trip to Texas since the Longhorns offered late last month. Sanders is also the top-ranked recruit in the nation in the Top247 and the No. 2 recruit nationally in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking.

This is an important visit for offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns to make a big first impression on the elite North Carolina offensive tackle recruit. The visit will serve as a gauge to see how much interest Sanders has in Texas.

Sanders has already visited some of the east coast/southeast powerhouse programs multiple times since last offseason, including the Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, and Alabama.

Flood has worked magic with top out-of-state offensive tackle recruits in past cycles. He’s looking to do the same with the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in the 2024 class, Mater Dei’s Baker.

He’ll need to do the same with Sanders to chart Texas down the right path in this recruitment heading into the fall.
