Texas Football: Rising ’25 DB Caleb Chester visiting Austin on Thursday
Texas football recruiting is back to work on the trail with hosting in-person visitors in Austin upon the end of the dead period on July 24. This week, Texas is hosting its annual July BBQ/pool party for visiting recruits from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes.
The visitor list for the July BBQ/pool party on July 27 is largely comprised of recruits from the 2025 class. There are also a handful of visitors on campus on July 25 from Mater Dei High School, including No. 1 2025 running back Jordon Davison and No. 1 2025 California wide receiver Marcus Harris.
For the actual BBQ/pool party on July 27, Texas added another 2025 visitor to the list. Inside Texas reported on July 25 that rising 2025 Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Caleb Chester will visit the Longhorns on July 27 for the pool party/BBQ.

This will be Chester’s first visit to Austin since Texas offered him on May 16, 2023. He reportedly received the offer from Texas safeties coach Blake Gideon after he visited Fort Bend Marshall High School a couple of months ago.
Gideon and the Longhorns are reportedly consistently communicating with Chester in the last couple of months. Gideon is working to build this relationship as Chester is one of the top rising cornerback talents in the state in the 2025 class.
Texas likes what it sees from the lengthy and athletic 6-foot-1 and 170-pound in-state cornerback Chester. The Houston-area product has good straight-line speed and solid coverage skills from what we’ve seen on film.

IT reported that the rival Texas A&M Aggies are leading this recruitment after Chester had a successful unofficial visit to College Station last month. Texas A&M is also set to host Chester for a visit after he sees Austin later this week.
Since last summer, Chester has also visited the Oregon Ducks, Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida State Seminoles, Houston Cougars, and Oklahoma Sooners.
