Texas football just wrapped up the last big visit week before the start of the 2023 season in the last few days. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian hosted more than two dozen visitors on campus from the 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 recruiting classes last week upon the lifting of the dead period for in-person visits on July 25.

The highlighting event for the late-July visit week was the Texas pool party/BBQ Bash, which took place on July 27 and 28. But other important visitors began rolling into the Forty Acres as early as July 25.

Sark and the Longhorns staff hosted some critical 2025 skill recruits from Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei High School to start the big visit week on July 25.

Most of the priority visitors the Longhorns had on campus last week were from the 2025 class. There were a handful of key 2024 visitors and early 2026 targets, but 2025 was the highlight of the week regarding the visitor list on the 40.

2025 recruits Texas football impressed during the late-July pool party/BBQ Bash

Here’s a look at five key recruits for the Longhorns that were impressed by the late-July pool party/BBQ Bash last week.

Landon Rink, DL

Nearing double-digits regarding the number of Texas visits he’s taken in the last couple of years, the touted four-star Cypress (TX) Cy-Fair defensive lineman Landon Rink is firmly on the Longhorns’ radar in the 2025 class. Rink made it to campus for the second time this summer for the Texas Bash last week. It was also his first visit since the Texas Elite Camp in early June.

Rink had plenty of good feedback regarding this visit to the 40 for the Texas Bash. Inside Texas reported post-visit that the Longhorns are a “top school” for Rink after visiting for the second time in as many months.

During last week’s visit, Rink enjoyed seeing the team practice and connect with the coaches. He’s got good relationships with defensive line coach Bo Davis and co-DC Pete Kwiatkowski.

Texas has to be considered one of the top dogs in the race to land a commitment from Rink early on. The staff has prioritized him among in-state defensive line recruits in the 2025 class.
