Cobey Sellers, CB

One of the best in-state cornerback recruits in the 2025 class, four-star Pearland (TX) Shadow Creek product Cobey Sellers, made it to campus for the second time this summer for the bash. He also visited for the Texas Elite Camp in early June.

Sellers enjoyed his personalized experience on the Forty Acres for the Texas Bash last week. He told Hank South of Horns247 that the one-on-one time with the staff was also a big deal for him.

"“It was a lot less people than I expected. I felt that was good because we had more one-on-one time with the coaches. But last time we got to workout and that’s what I like to do. I kinda wanted to workout if they let us.”"

Another important note from the post-visit report from Sellers’ Texas trip last week was him getting to see the players run practice. He was impressed by the drive and cohesion the players showed during practice, even without the coaches always present.

Byron Washington, OT

Literally, the biggest offer for the Longhorns during the Texas Bash last week went to the gigantic 6-foot-8 and 350-pound 2025 DeSoto (TX) offensive tackle Byron Washington. Texas was just the fourth Power Five school to offer Washington amid his visit last week. He also has offers from the Arizona State Sun Devils, TCU Horned Frogs, and Oregon Ducks.

Offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood has a relationship with Washington that goes a ways back. Flood has visited DeSoto before, and Washington has camped at Texas.

After the offer and the visit to Texas last week, Washington mentioned that he has the closest relationship to Flood of any of the college coaches recruiting him late this summer.
