Texas basketball got its first commitment in the 2024 recruiting class on Aug. 11, landing a pledge from elite Lexington (SC) shooting guard Cam Scott. Snagging a commitment from the high-four-star/five-star (depending on the recruiting service) two-guard/wing gets the 2024 recruiting class off the ground in a big way for head coach Rodney Terry and this staff.

After a rough patch on the recruiting trail in the 2023 class to start his tenure as the new full-time head coach, Terry proves that he can get these top blue-chip priority high school targets for the Longhorns.

Scott was one of the top targets for Terry and the Longhorns in the 2024 class. Texas isn’t done in the 2024 class after getting Scott in the boat. Landing his commitment could spark much-needed momentum on the recruiting trail for Terry and the Longhorns in the 2024 class heading into the fall.

Who’s next to commit to Texas basketball in the 2024 class after elite SG Cam Scott?

Here’s a prediction of the next to commit for the Longhorns in the 2024 class after Terry and this staff secured a pledge from Scott on Aug. 11.

One of the recent offers to watch for the Longhorns in the 2024 class is the rising three-star 6-foot-6 and 205-pound Round Rock (TX) Stony Point forward Josiah Moseley. Texas was the second major conference school to offer Moseley this summer, after the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Moseley’s recruitment really heated up during the summer. Since Texas offered in late June, Moseley has also received offers from the Illinois Fighting Illini, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Penn State Nittany Lions, Texas Tech Red Raiders, USC Trojans, and Villanova Wildcats, among many others.

Inside Texas reports that Terry and the Longhorns anticipate hosting Moseley on an official visit to Austin sometime next month. It sounds like Texas is at the forefront among the top schools in the race to land a commitment from Moseley heading into his loosely scheduled official visit date to Austin in September.
