Sark and the Longhorns signed one of the best recruiting classes in the last decade on the Forty Acres during the 2023 cycle. Texas landed multiple immediate impact high school recruits in the 2023 class, including five-star running back CJ Baxter Jr., five-star linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., and high-four-star cornerback Malik Muhammad, among many others.

Hill is probably in the best spot to make the biggest immediate impact of all the defensive recruits in the 2023 class for the Longhorns. Heā€™ll be an impact pass rusher as a hybrid linebacker/edge rusher for Pete Kwiatkowski and the Longhorns this fall.

Weā€™re already hearing great things about how the 6-foot-3 and 335-pound true freshman linebacker/hybrid pass rusher is looking in his new role early in fall camp. Itā€™s been reported multiple times in the first few weeks of fall practice that Hill looks like a dude. It was said last week that Hill is having a ā€œwhale of a campā€ thus far.

Eric Henry of Horns247 reported on Aug. 14 that Hill could even ā€œsee extended timeā€ at will linebacker if he continues to standout in fall practice.

Without overextending the expectations for Hill entering his true freshman campaign, it does look like heā€™s bound to contribute as a pass rusher at the bare minimum this fall. If he can generate a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks early in the season, Hill can contribute in other ways to the defense later in the campaign.

Hill was the No. 1 ranked linebacker recruit in the nation in the 2023 class for a reason. Heā€™s too talented and too big of a playmaker for Texas along the defensive front to be ignored this fall.
