The other top priority recruit for Terry and the Longhorns in the 2024 class reportedly set to lock in an official visit to Austin soon is the elite five-star Montverde Academy forward Liam McNeeley. Texas already hosted McNeeley on an official visit in late April.

But the recent official visit rule changes the NCAA implemented this year allow McNeeley to make a second OV to Texas during the fall. He is reportedly planning an official visit to Texas from Sep. 21-23.

McNeeley will also take advantage of the new official visit rules to make an official trip to Bloomington this fall to see the Indiana Hoosiers from Sep. 8-10. This will come roughly a year after McNeeley made his first official visit to Bloomington last fall.

Texas and Indiana are considered the top two schools in this recruitment heading into the fall. Most of the buzz in this recruitment favors Indiana in the last few months. But Texas is very much still alive in the race to land a commitment from McNeeley a few months ahead of the Early Signing Period.

McNeeley doesn’t have a public decision timeline. But it would make sense that he could have a decision after wrapping up the fall official visits to Indiana and Texas, respectively.

If Texas wants a legit shot at landing McNeeley’s commitment over the Hoosiers, Terry and this staff need to make a huge impression on him and his camp during his late-September official visit to Austin.
