Duncanville vs. South Oak Cliff

Two Texas commits are in action for No. 8 ranked Duncanville High School against another top South Dallas school in South Oak Cliff. The No. 1 ranked edge rusher recruit in the nation in the 2024 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, five-star Colin Simmons, will join fellow Texas commit and four-star defensive lineman Alex January in a battle against cross-town rival South Oak Cliff on Aug. 25.

Simmons and January will duke it out with South Oak Cliff at a bigger venue at Gerald Ford Stadium (home of the SMU Mustangs) in Dallas on Aug. 25, with the kickoff time set for 7 p.m. CT.

Duncanville comes in as the heavy favorite, with a roster chocked full of a few dozen recruits with Division I college offers. Simmons and January are two of Duncanville’s best players on defense. Meanwhile, five-star LSU Tigers commit and wide receiver Dakorien Moore leads the way for a talented Duncanville group on offense.

It will be a hot one at Gerald Ford Stadium between Duncanville and South Oak Cliff on Aug. 25, with temperatures expected to be in the mid-to-high 100s Fahrenheit (according to AccuWeather).

We will be on-site at Gerald Ford Stadium on the evening of Aug. 25 to watch Simmons, January, and the Panthers battle the Bears. This will be a good test for the Panthers before this squad faces another tough South Dallas foe in Week 2, against Lancaster High School on Sep. 1.
