Sep. 1 (7 p.m. CT): Cypress (TX) Cy-Fair vs. Cypress Park (TX)

Three-star Cypress (TX) Cy-Fair quarterback and Texas commit Trey Owens, and the Bobcats are still seeking their first win of the young season. Cy-Fair fell heartbreakingly short of Cypress (TX) Bridgeland in its season opener last weekend by a score of 31-30.

Owens had a decent outing for Cy-Fair in the one-point loss to Bridgeland on Aug. 25, putting up over 170 passing yards and one touchdown. Owens’ touchdown pass against Bridgeland last week was a 72-yard bomb to 2024 wide receiver and three-star Rice commit Owen Carter.

Owens and the Bobcats will look for their first win of the season on Sep. 2 on the road against the Cypress Park Tigers. Cypress Park comes into this matchup after a convincing 50-0 shutout loss last week to the Houston (TX) Westfield Mustangs.

Cy-Fair handily defeated Cypress Park at home last season by a score of 63-21. Owens threw for nearly 400 yards, along with three passing touchdowns and no interceptions, in Cy-Fair’s 42-point win over Cypress Park last year.

Owens is not the only Texas commit/target in action this weekend for Cy-Fair in their battle against Cypress Park. Four-star 2025 Cy-Fair defensive lineman Landon Rink is a top Texas target in the 2025 class. Owens and Rink are making the trip to Texas on Sep. 2 for the Rice game after their matchup against Cypress Park on Sep. 1.
