Texas Football: 4 key recruits impressed by Longhorns win over Rice
While it was closer than expected, Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian notched a convincing 37-10 season-opening win at home at DKR on Sep. 2 over the Rice Owls. Texas got off to a slow start against Rice last weekend, but it came out firing in the third quarter to pull away by multiple scores.
Sark and the Longhorns had over a dozen offered recruits in attendance from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes for the Rice game over the weekend. Among the visiting recruits last weekend for the Longhorns were multiple blue-chip prospects in the 2024 and 2025 classes.
Texas had a big opportunity to impress some of the top visitors on campus last weekend, not only with its play on the field but with its presentation and attention paid to the recruits.
