Texas Football: 4 key recruits impressed by Longhorns win over Rice
Kane Bowen, RB/LB
An early linebacker offer for the Longhorns in the 2025 class, Sherman (TX) two-way stud Kane Bowen is someone who caught the attention of Texas’ staff at the Elite Camp in early June. Bowen received a Texas offer for his standout performance at the Elite Camp during the summer.
And Bowen made his first return trip to Austin since the Elite Camp for the Rice game over the weekend.
Bowen tweeted after the game that he “had a great time” and he “can’t wait to come back”. He posted pictures with former Texas star running back Bijan Robinson and junior standout wide receiver Xavier Worthy in this tweet on Sep. 2.
The rising 2025 linebacker offer has Texas at the top of the list among the top schools early in his recruitment.
Caleb Chester, CB
Another 2025 recruit Texas is high on early in this cycle is three-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Caleb Chester. The 6-foot-1 and 175-pound in-state defensive back/athlete visited Texas for the second time since the summer for the Rice game last weekend.
It sounds like he had a good experience during his first return visit to Texas since the late July pool party/BBQ bash. He said after the game that Texas continues to make him feel like a “massive priority for the last few months”.
Chester holds offers from over two dozen schools, including the Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Oregon Ducks, TCU Horned Frogs, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas.
