In many ways, it makes sense that Texas football recruiting would take off after head coach Steve Sarkisian’s squad downed the No. 3 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa last weekend by double digits. But Texas picking up momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2024 and 2025 classes wasn’t going to happen immediately after beating Alabama.

If Texas keeps winning, as expected, the results will come in the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes in the coming weeks and months. More key targets in the next couple of cycles will be intrigued by the possibility of joining this Longhorns’ football program that appears to have hit its stride after beating Alabama on the road over the weekend.

It helps that some of the Longhorns’ biggest rival schools on the recruiting trail are struggling on the field early this season. Many blue blood SEC programs (i.e., the LSU Tigers and Florida Gators) have hit major hurdles this fall.

And the most notable of the rival schools for Texas struggling out of the gates is the program down in College Station, the Texas A&M Aggies. Texas A&M suffered a two-score loss on the road at the hands of the Miami Hurricanes, allowing a whopping 48 points.

The way the dominos are falling early this college football season, Texas looks like it will reap the benefits on the recruiting trail in the next few months. Here are three recruits the Longhorns can flip in the 2024 class this fall after a hot start to the season.
