Myles Davis, S (Texas A&M commit)

A few Texas A&M commits could be potential flip targets for the Longhorns this fall. But the two that come to mind above the rest are four-star Beaumont United (TX) offensive tackle Weston Davis and four-star Converse (TX) Judson safety Myles Davis.

Depending on what happens with the No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in the nation in the 2024 class in the 247Sports Composite, Mater Dei five-star Brandon Baker (who announces on Sep. 24), Texas could have another OT spot to fill this cycle. But Texas appears to be in a good spot for Baker a couple of weeks before his Sep. 24 commitment date.

So, that leaves us with the 6-foot-1 and 190-pound blue-chip in-state safety Davis among the Texas A&M flip targets to watch for the Longhorns this fall. Texas heavily pursued Davis during the summer and was one of his top schools coming out of June official visits.

But Davis committed to Texas A&M over Texas and the USC Trojans on July 12. Texas has remained in contact since Davis committed to the Aggies two months ago. There is even talk of Davis visiting Austin for a game at DKR this fall.

Other top safety targets to watch for the Longhorns in the 2024 class that are either uncommitted or committed elsewhere are Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall four-star Joshua Lair, and the aforementioned Gipson.

Another potential name to watch among Texas A&M flip targets for the Longhorns this fall is the touted four-star Jasper (TX) linebacker TyAnthony Smith. As Texas’ top linebacker target earlier last offseason in the 2024 class, the Longhorns would love to flip Smith if he shows interest as this season progresses.
