A big recruiting weekend for Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian for the matchup at home on Sep. 16 at DKR against the Wyoming Cowboys and head coach Craig Bohl just got even bigger on Sep. 13. Texas added another elite 2025 wide receiver recruit to an already massive list of visiting prospects at the position for the Wyoming game this weekend.

Multiple reports on Sep. 13 (including Orangebloods’ Jason Suchomel and Inside Texas’ Gerry Hamilton) indicate that Texas will host the elite five-star Duncanville (TX) wide receiver and LSU Tigers commit Dakorien Moore for an unofficial visit on Sep. 16 for the Wyoming game.

This will be the first visit Moore has taken since he committed to LSU on Aug. 12. It is also his first return visit to Austin since the Elite Camp in early June.

Moore joins a loaded group of visiting recruits, especially at the wide receiver position, for the Texas-Wyoming game at DKR on Sep. 16. Some of the other top wide receiver recruits visiting for the Wyoming game are 2024 St. Louis University (MO) five-star Ryan Wingo, 2025 Fulshear (TX) Jordan five-star Andrew Marsh, and 2025 Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei high-four-star Marcus Harris.

Texas still heavily involved in this recruitment after Moore’s commitment to LSU late this summer

Despite Moore committing to LSU in mid-August, many schools still pursue him as if he were an uncommitted recruit. Top schools for Moore, such as the USC Trojans, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas, are still in constant communication with the elite wideout recruit out of South Dallas.

This recruitment was initially figured to come down to a battle between Texas and LSU. USC also figures to be a player in this recruitment. But it still looks like Texas and LSU are Moore’s top schools early this fall.

New Texas wide receivers coach Chris Jackson has formed a great relationship with Moore. Jackson met Moore for the first time in person during the Elite Camp visit in early June. Moore had plenty of great things to say about his first experience meeting Jackson during the offseason (per On3).

"“Seeing Coach Jackson for the first time — I wanted to see what he was about and how he vibes,” he went on. “Over the phone, he was telling me a lot of things I wanted to hear, to be honest. When I got down there, he showed me the same things and we took it from there — and I really vibed with him.”"

Sark is also in frequent communication with Moore.

Texas was always going to play the long game in this recruitment. Moore is one of Sark, Jackson, and the Longhorns’ top wide receiver priorities in-state in the 2025 class.
