Plenty of Texas football commits in the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes have moved into district play in late September. Texas high school football moved into district play in most areas of the state a couple of weeks ago.

This means the high school football season is kicking into high gear, giving plenty of Texas commits to watch in action this weekend.

Texas football commits in the 2024 class to watch this weekend

A handful of Texas commits in the 2024 and 2025 classes already played their games this week. Here are the Texas commits that have already played their games this week.

  • 4-Star Phoenix (AZ) Mountain Pointe RB Christian Clark: Mountain Pointe wins 42-14 over Cesar Chavez
  • 3-Star Houston (TX) Langham Creek TE Jordan Washington: Langham Creek loses to Cypress (TX) Bridgeland 52-14
  • 4-Star North Richland Hills (TX) Richland IOL Daniel Cruz: Richland wins 65-6 over Dallas (TX) Adams
  • 3-Star Cypress (TX) Cy-Fair QB Trey Owens: Cy-Fair wins 42-21 over Houston (TX) Stratford
  • 3-Star Humble (TX) Atascocita IOL Nate Kibble: Atascocita wins 54-7 over Kingwood (TX)

That leaves nine Texas commits with games on Sep. 22. Here’s a look at four top Texas commits from the 2024 class to watch this weekend.

D’antre Robinson, DL

Sep. 22: Orlando (FL) Jones @ Winter Garden (FL) West Orange

The 6-foot-4 and 315-pound four-star Orlando (FL) Jones defensive lineman and Texas commit D’antre Robinson is on pace to have another productive season during his senior campaign. Robinson has tallied up over two dozen tackles, multiple quarterback pressures, one sack, one blocked field goal, and one forced fumble in four games for Jones this season (per MaxPreps).

Unfortunately, Robinson’s production in the trenches and on special teams hasn’t translated to much success in the win column for Jones. The Fightin’ Tigers are just 1-3 (0-1 3M District 3) this season after a 31-14 loss to Orlando (FL) Edgewater on the road on Sep. 14.

Robinson and the Fightin’ Tigers are looking to move one game closer back to .500 on the season as they take on the 1-3 West Orange Warriors on the road on Sep. 23.
