Texas football has real momentum on the recruiting trail, largely thanks to its hot start on the field this fall. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian have landed a couple of five-star commitments in as many months in the 2024 class, the most recent of which was the No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in the nation in this cycle, Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei product Brandon Baker.

Baker brought the Longhorns to three offensive line commits in the 2024 class heading into October. The other two are four-star North Richland Hills (TX) Richland interior offensive lineman Daniel Cruz and three-star Humble (TX) Atascocita interior offensive lineman Nate Kibble.

But offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns aren’t keeping their focus only on recruiting the 2024 class along the offensive line this fall. Texas has its early targets in mind among the top priorities in-state along the offensive line for the 2025 class, too.

The latest 2025 offensive line offer for Texas that has started to trend to the Longhorns this fall is the 6-foot-5 and 290-pound Port Neches (TX) Port Neches-Groves offensive tackle Jackson Christian. Texas received an On3 RPM pick from Gerry Hamilton of Inside Texas on Sep. 26 (with 7.5 out of 10 confidence).

Christian’s physical tools clearly fits the “big human” mold Flood like to have at offensive tackle. Christian has a reported 82-inch wingspan and plenty of room to add muscle mass to his 6-foot-5 (and growing) frame.

Texas offered Christian after a solid showing at the Elite Camp in early June

What caught Flood’s attention in this recruitment was Christian’s performance at the Texas Elite Camp in early June. Flood and the Longhorns offered Christian after the Texas Elite Camp and has remained in communication in the few months since that happened on June 11.

Christian made a return trip to Texas a little over a month after the Elite Camp for the late July pool party/BBQ bash.

The attention Christian has received on the recruiting trail continued to pick up early this fall. In the last couple of months, he’s netted offers from the Texas Tech Red Raiders and SMU Mustangs. He also holds offers from the North Texas Mean Green, Texas State Bobcats, and UTSA Roadrunners.
