Colin Simmons, EDGE (UT commit)

One of the recent big additions to the visitor list for the Kansas game this weekend is the elite five-star Duncanville edge rusher, and Texas commit Colin Simmons. The No. 1 edge rusher recruit in the nation in the 2024 class in the On3 Industry Ranking was confirmed by Jason Suchomel of Orangebloods on Sep. 27 to be making the visit to Austin for the Kansas game on Sep. 30.

This is the second straight home game at DKR that Simmons is visiting Texas. He also made the trip unofficially for the Wyoming game on Sep. 16.

Simmons was a big-time recruiter for the Longhorns during the Wyoming game a couple of weeks ago. I expect much of the same from Simmons as Texas looks to make a big impression on some of the biggest visiting recruits that will be on campus with him this weekend.

Dakorien Moore, WR (LSU commit)

Simmons’ teammate at Duncanville High School, five-star wide receiver and LSU commit Dakorien Moore, is joining the elite Texas edge rusher commit for the second visit in the last three weeks to the Forty Acres for a gameday at DKR. Moore was also in Austin with Simmons for the 21-point win over Wyoming on Sep. 16.

After the Texas visit two weeks ago for the Wyoming game, Moore said that the fans and environment stood out. Texas has also made an impression on the No. 2 wide receiver recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite, thanks to the play of the offense against Power Five competition early this season.

It’s huge for Texas to get Moore back on campus for the second gameday visit this month. This will make it twice as many visits to the 40 as he’s tripped to LSU for gamedays this fall.
