The highest-rated defensive lineman committed to the 2024 Texas football recruiting class in the 247Sports Composite is four-star Orlando (FL) Jones product D’antre Robinson. The blue-chipper from Florida is one of three defensive linemen committed to Texas and defensive line coach Bo Davis in the 2024 class, along with Duncanville four-star Alex January and Lafayette Christian Academy (LA) three-star Melvin Hills.

Robinson is a crucial part of this defensive line class for the Longhorns in the 2024 cycle. That’s why there was some concern when Robinson took an abrupt unofficial trip a couple of weeks ago to Gainesville to see the Florida Gators defeat the Charlotte 49ers at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Sep. 23.

But Robinson looks to cease the Florida talk in his recruitment as he recently reaffirmed his commitment to Texas. He told Horns247 on Oct. 2, “I’m going to Texas”.

"“I’m going to Texas,” he said. “That’s all I got to say.”"

Robinson said he feels “confident” in his decision and talks with the coaches “every day”.

It’s good to hear Robinson reaffirming his commitment to Davis and the Longhorns after his visit to Florida a couple of weekends ago. It sounds like Robinson has talked plenty with the Texas staff since his visit to Florida.

The relationship with Davis is one of the biggest reasons why Robinson feels so comfortable with his commitment to Texas.

"“[Coach Davis] is nice to talk to, easy to talk to. He’s like to joke around. But he also takes football seriously. He’s going to tell you what you need to work on.”"

Robinson says multiple schools remain in contact with him

While Robinson did reaffirm his commitment to Texas with Horns247 in this report this week, he did mention that other SEC programs are still communicating with him this fall, including the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, and Florida.

Robinson told Horns247 that he doesn’t have any other visits planned at the moment. He reportedly is potentially looking to visit Texas for one of the remaining home games this season, but he doesn’t have any specific date in mind yet.

The last time Robinson visited Texas was an unofficial trip for the Wyoming game at DKR on Sep. 16.
