The other top skill recruit from Mater Dei in the 2025 class the Longhorns are prioritizing this fall is California’s No. 1 wide receiver prospect for that cycle in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, four-star Marcus Harris. Texas’ top out-of-state priority at wideout in the 2025 class has built a great relationship with Longhorns’ wide receivers coach Chris Jackson, since early in the 2023 offseason.

Jackson, a Mater Dei High School alum, is one of the Longhorns’ many connections in this recruitment. Texas landing so many of Harris’ teammates at Mater Dei also helps their case in his recruitment.

Like Davison, Harris has taken multiple successful unofficial visits to Austin since the summer. Davison and Harris visited Texas on July 25 on the week of the pool party/BBQ bash with other Mater Dei teammates. They both also visited Texas for the Wyoming game on Sep. 16.

Harris, along with Duncanville five-star Dakorien Moore and Fulshear (TX) Katy Jordan five-star Andrew Marsh, are the top priorities at wide receiver for Jackson and the Longhorns in the 2025 class this fall. Texas is in a good spot with these three priority wide receiver recruits in the 2025 class at the moment.

The Oregon Ducks, Colorado Buffaloes, USC, and Oklahoma Sooners are also involved in Harris’ recruitment.
