No. 7 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian continue their quest for a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game next weekend on the road against head coach Sonny Dykes and the TCU Horned Frogs. The defending Big 12 regular season champs and reigning College Football Playoff National Championship runner-ups host Texas in Fort Worth for the final time as conference foes on Nov. 11.

The Longhorns come out of Week 10 with an 8-1 (5-1 Big 12) record after surviving a close upset scare from the No. 23 Kansas State Wildcats at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin on Nov. 4 by a score of 33-30 in overtime. Texas overcame a major fourth-quarter letdown to get the win over Kansas State this weekend.

Texas is now in a two-way tie atop the Big 12 standings heading into Week 11 with the No. 15 Oklahoma State Cowboys and head coach Mike Gundy.

TCU, meanwhile, comes into Week 11 with a 4-5 (2-4 Big 12) record after suffering a 35-28 loss in Lubbock on Nov. 2 at the hands of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Dykes and the Horned Frogs have lost two games in a row and four of their last five after the loss to Texas Tech this weekend.

No. 7 Texas football gets the primetime slot vs. TCU on the road in Fort Worth in Week 11

An official release from the Texas Sports website announced that the Texas-TCU game at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth on Nov. 11 will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT. It will be televised in front of a national audience on the night of Nov. 11 on ABC.

This will be at least the fifth night game the Longhorns play this season. Texas had three consecutive primetime slots for its games between Weeks 2 and 4. There is a chance the Longhorns could have six night games during the regular season, depending on what time slot Texas’ matchup on the road in Week 12 against the Iowa State Cyclones in Ames gets.

Texas also gets a primetime game on Black Friday (Nov. 24) against Texas Tech in the regular season finale at home at DKR in Austin.

Texas is 64-28-1 in the all-time series against TCU. The Frogs won the last meeting between Texas and TCU by one score at DKR last season. TCU has also won seven of the last nine meetings against Texas dating back to 2014.
