No. 2 Maalik Murphy, redshirt freshman

Maalik Murphy had his chance, and the audition might be over. After two interceptions against Kansas State and a close overtime win, his stock is down. Arch Manning will be given every chance to be the Longhorns’ starting QB next season and Murphy will realize that the best thing for his career is to enter the transfer portal.

Murphy still has a lot of talent and will be one of the most highly-coveted transfers, if he decides to leave, so I’d be shocked to see him back in burnt orange in 2024.
