Max Granville, EDGE

Among the highest-rated 2025 recruits the Longhorns are hosting on campus for the Texas Tech game on Black Friday is the highly touted four-star Sugar Land (TX) Fort Bend Christian Academy edge rusher Max Granville. The No. 2 edge rusher recruit in Texas in the 2025 class in the On3 Industry Ranking is a priority target at the EDGE position for the Longhorns heading into next offseason.

Granville has a lot of buzz with Oklahoma in the last few weeks. Head coach Brent Venables and the Sooners have made Granville’s recruitment a top priority among out-of-state EDGE recruits in the 2025 class this fall.

But Texas has a shot to make up some ground on Oklahoma’s lead in the race to land Granville’s commitment if he has a good experience during the visit for the Texas Tech game this week. Granville is also slated to visit Waco to see the Baylor Bears host the West Virginia Mountaineers at McLane Stadium on Nov. 25.

Granville impressed Texas’ staff when he camped in Austin during the offseason. The impression he made on Texas’ staff during the offseason earned him an offer late in the spring.

We will see if Texas can make a dent in Oklahoma’s lead in this recruitment coming out of the visit for the Longhorns-Texas Tech game on Black Friday.
