Texas football has just 10 days remaining before the Early Signing Period begins for the 2024 recruiting class. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian have plenty of high-priority targets they’re still pursuing on the recruiting trail in the 2024 class before signing day on Dec. 20.

Sark and the Longhorns staff were busy hitting the road this week to visit top remaining targets and commits in the 2024 class before signing day in a couple of weeks. Texas coaches visited a handful of top remaining flip targets in the 2024 class late in the cycle, along with a couple of uncommitted targets and pledges.

Texas currently sits at 20 commits in the 2024 class among high school recruits. The Longhorns are looking to add a few more commits to fill out the scholarship spots from the high school ranks in the 2024 class before signing day.

Portal recruiting will fill the rest of the spots in the 2024 class. But that will be a more patient process as the Longhorns staff is also busy right now with high school recruiting and preparing for the College Football Playoff semifinal game on Jan. 1 against the No. 2 Washington Huskies.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, Texas’s 2024 recruiting class ranks 10th nationally and fifth in the SEC. But some potential late-cycle movement on the recruiting trail could possibly get the Longhorns their third straight top-five-ranked class in the nation.

Here’s a prediction of every flip the Longhorns could pull off before signing day on Dec. 20.

Terrance Hibbler, DL (Mississippi State commit)

Defensive line coach Bo Davis and the Longhorns are still looking to fill one more spot in the 2024 class in the trenches via high school recruiting. Texas currently sits at three defensive line commitments in the 2024 class, and Davis is targeting a couple of other potential flips before signing day to get the number to four.

Two of the top flip targets for Davis and the Longhorns along the defensive line in the 2024 class before signing day on Dec. 20 are from Mississippi. Four-star Lexington (MS) Holmes Country Central product and Mississippi State Bulldogs commit Terrance Hibbler is the top-priority flip target along the defensive line.

The other noteworthy Mississippi defensive linemen Davis and the Longhorns are targeting as a flip candidate late in the cycle is three-star Greenville (MS) St. Joseph’s High product and Baylor Bears commit Alex Foster.

Hibbler reportedly (per Inside Texas) received an in-home visit from Davis this week. Davis reportedly showed Hibbler the plan for his development along the defensive line at Texas and conveyed how much of a priority he is for them in the 2024 class.

Texas has a decent shot here as Davis has a longstanding relationship with Hibbler. And Hibbler already visited Austin twice this year, including for an official visit in late June.

The other two schools that are still communicating with Hibbler are the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers.

It also looks like Hibbler visited Starkville to see Mississippi State this weekend. It’s up to Hibbler to decide whether he wants to stick with his pledge to Mississippi State or flip to one of the schools pursuing him late this cycle.
