The 6-2 rising senior is one of the top point guards in the country.

Kinney is incredibly shifty and athletic with the ball in his hands, consistently being able to fill the lead guard role for his team. He's an excellent scoring threat on multiple levels, and he's unusually effective at the rim for being only 6'2".
He's also a great passer, averaging 5 assists per game in 2025 in two separate leagues (OTE & 3SSB). He does an excellent job when driving and kicking the ball out to the perimeter, mostly because he's a legitimate threat when attacking the paint. Defenders have to respect his ability as a three-level scorer, which opens things up from a spacing and overall scheme standpoint.
Kinney has shown pretty good hand-eye coordination as well on the defensive side of the ball. He's constantly being a "pest" to offensive ball-handlers and times up things pretty well to knock away passes and grab some steals. Though he may not be as effective at guarding bigger players at the collegiate level, his 6'6" wingspan makes him incredibly effective at guarding taller guards and wings at the prep level.
Overall, he would make an excellent addition to the Longhorns' men's basketball team, and the coaching staff will continue pushing for him until the very last moment.
