New Texas defensive end/edge coach LaAllan Clark has officially been named to the media outlet's 30Under30 list today, and it's not the first time that we've seen the national media praise Clark this offseason.

Clark joined the Longhorns' coaching staff in February after a short stint as a defensive line GA at Ohio State from 2023-2024, and coached a total on nine All-Conference defensive linemen during that time.

He also helped coach a defense that ranked first nationally in scoring defense (12.9 ppg), yards allowed per play (4.19 ypp), and second in total sacks with 53. Clark is known for his pass-rushing prowess when it comes to coaching, and was also a private defensive line tutor for multiple NFL pass rushers such as Danielle Hunter, Ed Oliver, and Jeffery Simmons.

Clark was undoubtedly intrigued by the opportunity to coach at the University of Texas for multiple reasons, but getting to work with the likes of Colin Simmons, Ethan Burke, and Colton Vasek was likely a big part of it. Simmons recently spoke to the media and discussed a few things regarding his 2025 outlook. He mentioned how Clark believes that Simmons' get-off is even faster when he's in a three-point stance as opposed to a two-point stance, which Simmons operated in quite a bit in 2024.

It sounds simple and boring, but little things like this could make a huge difference in SImmons' production in 2025, which is hard to even think about because he was already one of the top edge rushers in the country as a true freshman.

Clark undoubtedly has the coaching talent to help the Longhorns' defense remain at the top this year, especially with the type of incredibly talented defensive linemen that he's surrounded with in Austin.
