Tre Johnson starts SEC play off with five-straight 20+ point games
Just 11 games into his collegiate career, Johnson has already proven to be one of the best offensive freshmen in program history for the Longhorns basketball team. Johnson started his collegiate career joining Texas legend Kevin Durant as Longhorns' players ever to score over 20 points in their first game as a true freshmen.
Johnson, the SEC's leading scorer heading into conference play this week, has been Texas's most vital offensive scorer and playmaker this season.
He's shot the lights out from the field and from beyond the arc early in his collegiate career. Johnson averages 19.7 points per game on an efficient 49.1 shooting from the field and 44.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Johnson has posted four assists in three consecutive games. His ability to facilitate the offense has greatly improved in the past few games, including in his first game back from the hip injury against Northwestern State where he nailed seven shots from at least 12 feet from the basket shooting from the field.
It's clear that Johnson is the primary facilitator and playmaker in Terry's offense going into conference play in the SEC against Texas A&M tomorrow.
