3 early 2025 signees practicing with Texas this postseason

Which early signees/planned early enrollees for Texas's 2025 recruiting class could follow-suit with a handful of other guys and get to campus for postseason practice amid the Playoff preparation for head coach Steve Sarkisian?

A few weeks ago, Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian signed the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the nation for the 2025 cycle in the 247Sports Composite. Amid a busy month of December for Texas on the field and the recruiting trail between high school recruiting and the winter NCAA Transfer Portal, it seems like Sarkisian and staff have been going non-stop for the past four or five weeks.

Texas football's top-ranked signees from the 2025 recruiting class arriving on campus early to get valuable postseason practice reps

When the Longhorns started practice for postseason and 12-team College Football Playoff preparation for the Clemson game a few weeks ago, a handful of early signees from Texas's 2025 class from high school recruiting took advantage of the opportunity to get extra reps with Texas.

Inside Texas reported on Dec. 27 that multiple early signees from the Longhorns 2025 class were already on campus and practicing with the scout team before the Christmas holiday break earlier in the week. And it sounds like the Longhorns are planning on having even more early signees on campus from the 2025 class in the coming days for practice with the scout team.

Here are three blue-chip early signees for the Longhorns from the 2025 class who are already practicing with the team in postseason Playoff game prep in December.

Justus Terry, DL

One of the more recent 2025 signees for the Longhorns to arrive on campus to participate in practice this postseason in December is five-star Manchester (GA) defensive lineman Justus Terry. This is a big opportunity for Terry to get entrenched in Texas's defensive line room to get up to speed with the front seven amid Playoff practice and preparation.

Given the lack of depth and proven experience Texas has coming back at interior defensive line for the upcoming offseason for 2025, getting Terry on campus is big for the Longhorns to get more valuable practice reps and depth up front in postseason practice.

Texas signing Terry, the No. 2 defensive line recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, locked up the Longhorns having the No. 1 ranked class for this cycle.

Lance Jackson, EDGE

Another elite signee from the Longhorns 2025 class who was invited to postseason practice this December up front along the defensive front seven is the elite five-star edge rusher Lance Jackson.

The former top-50-ranked prospect from Texarkana (TX) Pleasant Grove High School, Jackson is ready to get down to business amid Playoff practice for the Longhorns this December.

Jackson has seemingly been ready to get down to work and arrive on campus as an early enrollee for the Longhorns going back at least five or six months for his recruitment since this past summer. He's been locked-in and engaged with the Longhorns as one of the top-rated commitments from high school recruiting in Texas's 2025 class since the summer last offseason on the trail.

Michael Terry III, ATH/WR

On the offensive side of the ball, the Longhorns had some big late additions to the 2025 class who bring a ton of talent, versatility, and upside to the skill positions in the SEC this upcoming offseason.

Five-star San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights athlete signee Michael Terry III is reportedly starting out with the scout team practicing at wide receiver for the Longhorns. Terry signed with the Longhorns in the 2025 class as an athlete, but it looks like he's getting a chance to prove himself as a bigger wideout in Sarkisian's offense going into spring ball in the 2025 offseason.

It didn't take long for Terry to arrive on campus after he publicly announced his decision to commit to the Longhorns in the 2025 class on Dec. 4. Terry was favored to commit to the Longhorns since last summer for his recruitment.

I also wouldn't be surprised if other five-star wide receiver signees for the Longhorns in the 2025 class, like Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin's Jaime Ffrench and Sachse's (TX) Kaliq Lockett will be on campus practicing with Texas by the beginning of next week.
