3 elite 2025 recruits Texas can land in November
Javion Hilson, EDGE
Texas has been trending up in the recruitment for high-four-star Cocoa (FL) edge rusher and one-time Florida State Seminoles commit Javion Hilson for the past couple of months. Since Hilson decommitted from Florida State in early September, the Longhorns have been in consistent communication with the No. 2 ranked edge rusher recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite.
Hilson told On Texas Football that Texas treats him "like family" every time he's on campus in Austin for the Longhorns. Hilson reportedly has multiple conversations with Sarkisian and the Longhorns coaching staff each week this fall.
Texas has gained some competition from the in-state rival Texas A&M Aggies on the recruiting trail this fall for Hilson. Texas A&M impressed Hilson with the crazy environment and elite group of visiting recruits in the stands at Kyle Field for their win over LSU last weekend.
The Longhorns hosted Hilson for a visit a couple of weeks ago for the Georgia game. I don't know if the confidence level for the Longhorns in this recruitment is at the same place it was a couple of weeks ago before the visit for the Georgia game.
Texas will have to keep its foot on the gas in this recruitment for Hilson through the finish line on signing day in December to beat Texas A&M for one of the elite edge rushers nationally in the 2025 class.
