Chris Henry Jr., WR (Ohio State commit)

The No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the nation in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei five-star Chris Henry Jr. has been recovering from a lower-body injury that ended his 2024 season.

The elite Ohio State Buckeyes commit has been considering multiple other schools on the trail entering the upcoming offseason for 2025, including the Longhorns, Tennessee Volunteers, and Oregon Ducks, among others.

It appears that the Longhorns are pushing to get Henry to campus for a visit around Junior Day or early next offseason during spring camp in March or April. Henry hasn't visited Texas since he committed to Ohio State in late July 2023.

Henry also looks like he wants to take visits to other schools that are pursuing him on the recruiting trail next year.

Texas has recruited and developed at a very high level at the wide receiver position under Sarkisian and wide receivers coach Chris Jackson. The Longhorns also have elite quarterback talent on campus and in the pipeline in future recruiting classes, including the No. 2 QB recruit in the nation for the 2026 cycle Bell committed to them.

Multiple SEC schools look to remain in the mix for the elite 6-foot-5 and 205-pound wideout from California entering next offseason, with the spring visit season fast approaching on the trail.
