In a couple of days, Texas football commits in the 2025 recruiting class will sign on the dotted line on signing day starting early in the morning of Dec. 4. This is an earlier signing window for the Early Signing Period for college football than we've had over the past few cycles/years.

Texas football remains within reach of a top-three-ranked 2025 class in the nation before signing day

Signing day this upcoming Wednesday takes place five days before the start of the winter NCAA Transfer Portal window for the 2025 offseason.

With how turbulent this recruiting cycle has been for most P4 conference teams, especially in the past few months for the 2025 class this fall, we're expecting at least a few fireworks entering signing day in roughly 48 hours.

Entering signing day, head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns have commitments from 23 recruits in the 2025 class. Texas is down from two dozen commitments in the 2025 class after the Longhorns lost four-star defensive lineman Joseph Mbatchou to the Florida Gators yesterday.

Here are three elite five-star recruits the Longhorns could land in the next 48 hours entering signing day on Dec. 4 in the 2025 class.

Justus Terry, DL

The highest-rated recruit the Longhorns are pursuing in the 2025 class before signing day is five-star Manchester (GA) defensive lineman Justus Terry. The No. 2 defensive line recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking is having meaningful contact with Texas's staff on the trail over the past few weeks.

Terry will announce his decision during the Early Signing Period at a ceremony at Manchester High School on Friday afternoon.

Per 247Sports, Terry's top three schools that all feel like they have a shot in this recruitment, entering his decision announcement on Friday (Dec. 6) are the Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas.

Texas hosted Terry for an official visit for the Georgia game in mid-October. Chris Gilbert and the Longhorns have done a nice job sticking around in this recruitment over the past few weeks on the trail.

Georgia is still the favorite to win out for Terry when he announces on Dec. 6. But the Longhorns and Auburn are very much still alive in this recruitment a few days before his decision.
