3 key injured Texas players heading into Arizona State

Texas looks to be pretty healthy on the offensive side of the ball after Friday's practice a couple of days ago for the second round of the College Football Playoff vs. Arizona State.

Williams was the other Longhorns player who was tied up on the unfortunate play against Clemson in the second half of the first round of the Playoff last weekend, which resulted in him and Wisner having to be helped off the field. While Williams was trying to help pull Wisner forward for extra yards after a screen pass to the running back, he got his leg rolled up on by a Clemson defender.

After the play, Williams was having a tough time putting any weight on his right leg. Following the injury, Williams tried for another play or two from what I could see on the televised broadcast of the game.

But he subbed out for the rest of the game for redshirt freshman offensive tackle Trevor Goosby after he wasn't moving very well on that right leg that was injured a couple of plays earlier for the Texas offense.

Multiple reports indicated that Goosby was taking practice reps in the team portion of the media viewing window with the first-team offensive line on Friday. Williams was reportedly dressed out for practice but wasn't an active participant in team drills. He was still moving slowly on the injured right leg in practice late in the week.

Due to injury issues Kyle Flood and the Longhorns have experienced along the offensive line at the offensive tackle position in the past six weeks or so with Williams and opposite him with Kelvin Banks Jr. at left tackle, Goosby had to step up for the starting OL recently. Goosby has allowed zero sacks and/or QB hits while taking over 100 pass-blocking snaps since the Texas A&M game on Nov. 30.
