In the first half of Red River last weekend, junior wide receiver Isaiah Bond suffered what was reported to be an ankle injury. Bond was able to stay in the game for a couple of drives after he had initially suffered the ankle injury.

But on a play in the second quarter, when he went up for a pass from Ewers, Bond had an awkward landing, and he needed help off the field after the whistle.

Sarkisian said during his Monday press conference that Bond's status this week (before the first release of the SEC-mandated injury report on Wednesday) is "day-to-day".

"I feel better about [Bond] today than I felt Saturday when he couldn't finish the ballgame. I'm optimistic. He'll be day-to-day. We'll see how it looks as we get into Wednesday, Thursday."

Bond was only targeted three times on 19 offensive snaps in Red River against OU last weekend, resulting in one catch for five yards. Despite exiting the game in the first half due to a lower-body injury, Bond is still Texas's leading receiver after the Red River dominant win over the Sooners, with 21 catches for 369 receiving yards and three touchdown catches.

Last season with the Alabama Crimson Tide's receiving corps, Bond had a big day in the SEC Championship Game for head coach Nick Saban's squad against Georgia. He registered a game-high five catches for 79 receiving yards (15.8 yards per catch) in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia for the Tide last season.
