The Early Signing Period from a few weeks ago wrapped up Texas football's No. 1 ranked 2025 recruiting class nationally for this cycle in the 247Sports Composite. Texas's 2025 signing class was about as good of a haul as we've seen for the past few years since head coach Steve Sarkisian took the post for the UT program.

Texas football's 2025 signing class made up of elite blue-chips and hidden gems at multiple positions of significant impact

Sarkisian and the Longhorns signed a top-five-ranked recruiting class in the nation in the 247Sports Composite for the fourth straight cycle. Texas also has landed top-three-ranked recruiting classes in the industry rankings in three out of the past four years under Sarkisian.

Texas addressed some big positional needs and talent areas in the 2025 signing class, including wide receiver, defensive line, defensive back, and tight end. The Longhorns signed two five-star defensive backs, two five-star wide receivers, and a five-star athlete who is versatile enough to play multiple positions at Texas in college.

With all the attention being paid to the top-rated signees in the Longhorns 2025 class over the past few weeks, many of the most intriguing prospects weren't ranked as blue-chip recruits from the major recruiting services.

Here are three of the most underrated signees in the Longhorns 2025 class.

Rickey Stewart, RB

Texas and running backs coach Tashard Choice signed a two-running back class for 2025, with Louisiana four-star James Simon and Texas high-three-star Rickey Stewart in the fold. Stewart boasts insane quickness and speed to get to the outside for explosive run plays.

He'll be utilized similarly to other speedy Texas running backs in Sarkisian's offense, like Keilan Robinson and/or Jaydon Blue. If Stewart develops well at Texas, he could be one of the most explosive and productive running backs in the P4 in a few years for the Longhorns.

Stewart broke all sorts of records at Chapel Hill High School in Tyler, TX. He owns the school records for rushing yards, 100-yard rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and total touchdowns. Stewart had over 100 touchdowns at Chapel Hill.

Getting Stewart and Simon in this class gives Sarkisian and the Longhorns a thunder-and-lighting type of running back duo in the future backfield for Texas.
